Under the direction of the Manager, the Service Assistant must work to achieve the goals of the IPS/Fixed Annuity area by working both independently and with other members of their team to deliver efficient and effective service and obtain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Call Center representative – responding to customer’s questions and requests, including point of call processing.
• Assist in the processing of routine financial and non-financial transactions on fixed policies with expediency and accuracy
• Displays a positive helpful attitude when providing basic information to customers, team members etc.
• Can explain complex information clearly too internal and external customers.
• Demonstrates willingness to research customer inquiries and follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
• Review customer source documents for daily routine transactions and determine if paperwork is “in good order” for processing
• Actively participates in team projects.
• Issue routine correspondence to customers/agents by using pre-formatted responses in correspondence system
• Act as support to internal staff with regard to researching administrative issues, inquiries and problems. Pull research documentation to respond to inquiries
• Develop working knowledge of Fixed products and services
• Develop working knowledge of administrative and mainframe systems needed to process functions required of Service team.
• Helps to help analyze current service procedures and suggest improvements.
• Work on special projects as assigned by Manager

Knowledge and Skills:
• College degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years work experience, preferably in Investment or Insurance industry
• Limited knowledge of insurance/investment industry
• Experience with PC based systems.
• Proficient data entry skills
• Good customer service and listening skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized.
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Must work well under pressure and time constraints
