USA jobs : Business Analyst (life insurance)
Assist in the development of COLI, BOLI and Private Placement VUL Products. Specific job
responsibilities will include:
- Able to gather requirements and write
specifications for administration systems. May require input from
facilitator for content, accuracy and clarity.
- Create test plans that verify the
modifications are programmed according to
specifications.
- Test Plan should contain applicable test
scenarios, including positive and negative
testing, expected results and all reports and
extracts for verification based on review and
understanding of modification specifications.
- Conduct testing of the modifications to the
administration system.
- Able to create required screen prints and
documentation from test scenarios. Will be
used during review/sign off by facilitator.
Analyze test results and identify problems
with the administration system.
- Able to accurately verify insurance and tax
limit calculations (MEC, GLP/GSP etc?) by
utilizing calc spreadsheets or calculating
values by hand.
- Provide production support to the
administration team.
- Able to look at ?big picture? and make
suggestions for final approaches in
production problem resolution.
- Maintain a positive relationship with software
vendors to ensure NYL business needs are
met.
- Must be able to clearly communicate needs
and expectations to software vendor.
- Able to answer modification/PL questions
from vendors accurately and timely.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of
Executive Benefits product features.
- Can use policy forms, policy prospectus
and product specifications to attain
knowledge.
- Knowledge of attaining and understanding
historical data.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of
the Extracts utilized by Executive benefits to
pass data from the CyberLife system to
Home office Legacy systems.
- Provide administration team with
modification training during the production
moves process.
Requirements for Position include:
- Show accountability to team and team
goals.
- Take the initiative to research and learn all
team processes.
- Be pro-active in gaining knowledge.
- Create and implement test plan for
review of NYL administration systems specifications.
- Self-starter who is able to work
independently and is comfortable asking
questions to facilitate and continue growth.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned
projects by facilitating activities needed for
project initialization, progression through to
completion.
- Obtain NASD Series 6 license within first 6
months of hire.
- Sit for LOMA Exams 1 and 2 within first
year of hire.
