Company: Jackson National Life Insurance Company Contact: Staffing Specialist Email: Apply by Email Address: Lansing, MI 48951 Technical Writer Responsibilities and DutiesThe Technical Writer will support critical corporate needs, promote efficiencies and enhance corporate knowledge by providing effective, innovative and quality technical communication solutions.  This writer will be responsible for working with technical staff, end users and model office to develop and publish standards and procedure manuals, program and systems documentation, instructional materials, audio and video materials, and other written and online reference and communications tools.  This individual interviews expert staff to gather information for the purpose and content of proposed materials and designs, writes, records, edits, and determines the most effective venue for presenting information. The Technical Writer manages multiple projects and contact with user-owners for audience analysis, technical reviews, and customer approval.   Job Requirements·  Undergraduate degree in related discipline or related writing experience required;·  Excellent organizational and writing skills and the ability to organize and write original text;·  Experience producing effective, innovative, and creative communication solutions;·  Strong technical skills with extensive experience using and learning various technical software and tools;·  Must be team oriented, self-directed, proactive, quality oriented, and motivated;·  Proven ability to independently analyze users’ needs and expectations, and to communicate effectively with technical experts/sources;·  Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively on multiple projects and produce timely results;·  Ability to accept feedback and redirect projects to adapt efficiently to the best strategy for project completion. Preferred Qualifications·  Expertise with online and/or non-linear documentation;·  Experience with Flash, Camtasia, and RoboHelp and other communications software;·  Electronic publishing skills;·  Programming experience, especially internet-related languages or mark-up languages; and·  Experience in the insurance industry.
