Team Leader - Ancillary Department
Emerson, Reid & Co. Inc., founded over 30 years ago, is currently the only wholesaler with true general agency contracts in southern Connecticut, downstate New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Through our broker channels, Emerson Reid writes over 2 billion in insured premium, 200,000 medical lives, and 7,200 group disability policies.
We are currently looking for a Team Leader in our Ancillary Department in our Harrisburg, PA office.
Job responsibilities include:
Provide management direction and supervisory functions to team.Provide job training and employee development for team members.Monitor quality and sufficiency of team members’ work.Ensure corporate benchmarks are met with regards to quality and turn-around times for functions within the team.Participate as member of management team to help define how we run our business.Run Proposals for groups with less than 10 employees and email directly to the Broker.Send Requests for Proposal to Carriers for Groups with 10 or more employees, review proposals, and complete summary for Account Executive to determine which to present.Create Spreadsheet Presentations summarizing the Proposals being presented, as needed and directed by the Account Executive(s).Create case files that include all critical client informationInstall New Business with Carriers, including initial review for missing information, follow-up with Broker for missing information, getting Group approved in timely basis, Approval Letter and other materials delivered to Broker and/or Group, and Case transferred to Broker Consultant for ongoing service.Complete commission sheets with appropriate data, including new business.Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and vendors through frequent contact. Handle broker of record changes, broker licensing, updating broker mailing lists, etc.Process new business applications, and insure that cases are installed quickly and accurately by the vendor.Communicate regularly with the sales producer regarding all aspects of administration.Proactively identify opportunities to sell additional products and services to the existing client base.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all staff.Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills along with sound judgment.Familiarity with products, services, competitive offerings, market needs and industry trends.Life, Accident & Health License is required.
