Job Summary: Appraises vehicle damage and prepares appraisals.  This position will work the Route 1 territory (Norwood, Westwood, Dedham, Walpole, Foxboro).Duties Include: Inspects damaged vehicles Evaluates damage based on book values and replacement costs plus supplements Writes an average of 30 appraisals per week Negotiates with body shops to determine final repair costs Re-inspects all repaired vehicles as needed Delivers all completed appraisals, supplements and re-inspections to the main office within 24 hours of completion Mails to vehicle owner a completed appraisal or supplement within 24 hours of receipt Expedites all total loss paperwork and works to obtain permission to move all insured?s vehicles Contacts salvage pool with 2 hours on total loss claimsQualifications: High school diploma required Graduation from an appraisal school accredited by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or significant body shop experience required MA license required 8 - 10 years experience in writing appraisals required Experience with CCC Pathways appraisal software required Experience with Mitchell Refinishing Paint and Material Guide required. ICAR technical training preferred Experience using automated office systems such as E-Mail and MS Office required.
