Sr. Financial Analyst
Senior Financial Analyst GENERAL SUMMARY Monitors the operational and financial performance of Coventry Health Care. Performs thorough analyses and makes recommendations to senior staff. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Monitors on-going financial and utilization information. Analyzes trends and modifies reporting systems accordingly. Reports financial results to senior management. - Plans and implements the methods to build models required for consistent reporting of risk-share deals, specialty capitation deals, market expansion studies, acquisitions and related projects. - Performs financial due diligence as needed and makes recommendations regarding viability of potential acquisitions. Analyzes transactions for acquisitions and determines allocation of purchase price, and ensures the proper reporting to IRS and state regulators. - Coordinates reconciliation of volume-tiered deals. - Analyzes actual versus projected rating assumptions on large cases; performs actuarial and rating analysis. - Reviews physician contracts, analyzes risk pools, and prepares physician settlements. - Performs special projects and other duties as required. JOB SPECIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree or CPA preferred. - Substantial (usually 5+ years) directly related financial analyst experience. - Significant knowledge of generally accepted financial analyst or accounting principles, applications and accounting systems. - Thorough understanding of managed care industry requirements. - Proficient with database software, spreadsheet software and accounting mainframe systems. - Supervisory experience preferred. - Excellent communication, analytical and report writing skills required.
