(Sr.) Actuarial Analyst

Our client writes automobile, homeowners, and commercial lines coverages. They conduct operations through independent agents writing business in 17 states. Their A.M. Best rating is A+ (Superior). They presently offer the opportunity to join their operation located in Northwest Ohio in their actuarial department.

Actuarial Analyst responsibilities:

Prepare rate level indications for all commercial lines and communicate the results to Home Office and Regional personnel. Prepare analyses of statistical experience for all commercial lines and communicate the results to Home Office and Regional personnel. Work with the Commercial Lines Review Committee, including presenting actuarial pricing information, evaluating rate proposals, and advising on the impacts of actions being proposed. Prepare actuarial portions of commercial lines rate filings, including responding to questions raised by the various insurance departments. Monitor other correspondence of the Actuarial Department to evaluate their impact on the commercial lines pricing work and to verify consistency of related actuarial work products.

Actuarial Analyst qualifications:

To be considered you will need to offer a minimum of 2 years of actuarial experience, preferably including commercial lines pricing experience in property, GL, work comp, and auto. At least 3 Casualty Actuarial Society exams passed and dedication to reaching the Fellowship level. Strong academic and math background. Ability to effectively present information and make recommendations in written and oral formats. Excellent communication skills.
