Job ID: 18144 Posting Title: Senior Underwriter, M&A Working Location: Manhattan, NY Employment Status: Full-Time Job Summary: Zurich is seeking a production underwriter to join our dynamic and growing M&A group within our Global Corporate unit. THIS IS A P&C POSITION. CANDIDATES WITHOUT SIGNIFICANT P&C EXPERIENCE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.Global Corporate in North America serves the large corporate and commercial markets with global and domestic solutions, including both property and custom-tailored casualty programs. We have set the standard in the industry which others now follow, and continue to do so with our M&A group.In this key role as a production underwriter, you will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting new and renewal business, focusing on the unique needs of the M&A market. Since your limits and authority will be broad, and your assignments will be complex, you must have significant experience selling and underwriting WC, GL, and auto programs, plus have proven technical skills.You will work a national territory and interact heavily with our brokers, M&A specialists, and additional product specialists (including underwriters within our property, D&O, reps & warranties and excess umbrella areas) as part of out whole account approach to our clients. As you build broker relationships, it will be your responsibility to maintain those relationships as well. Job Qualifications: We prefer a Bachelors Degree, but will accept equivalent work experience.A minimum of five years of experience as an underwriter or production underwriter in the P&C industry is absolutely mandatory; along with that is the required in-depth knowledge of the product lines, as well as legal and regulatory guidelines. Additionally, you must have a proven ability to effectively assess complex risk.Superb verbal and written communication skills are required, as are solid negotiation skills.We have a highly technical work environment; you must be computer literate, with solid PC skills.A proven, proactive and creative approach to problem solving is required.Lastly, we work in a true team environment.
