Senior Application Developer-Java

Actively participate in development of sophisticated technology solutions to complex business problems. Provide technical recommendations that meet or exceed business requirements for our Distribution Channel Management system. Provide reliable work effort estimates for proposed solution, design and prepare detailed specifications, build high quality, maintainable software using Java, JSP, web technologies, SQL, and Linux/UNIX. Perform component testing of software using JUnit and work with other development team members as well as QA Analysts to resolve defects. Develop and maintain configuration and release management processes and procedures for the Linux open source environment. Follow a software development methodology through all phases of work for new development and maintenance. Participate in design decisions by providing schedule impacts vs. scope change trade-offs.

BS in computer science or equivalent, college level math, 7-10 years Java development experience, including JSP, Ant, XML, Eclipse IDE, Linux and SQL. Must possess a solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques. Must demonstrate competency in SQL and relational database design fundamentals. Strongly desired: Red Hat Linux, Tomcat, Postgres, O-R mapping, JUnit. Additional experience with JDBC, SQL Server, SOAP, HTML, CSS, EDI are beneficial. Must have experience on at least one full project life cycle of a large software development project. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
