SR Legal Administrative Assistant

Read on to learn about the requirements for this opening. Job Purpose:To provide advanced/specialized administrative assistance to the Legal Department. Assignments are broad in nature and work is performed under general supervision and requires the incumbent to exercise independent judgment related to assignments. Major Duties:The incumbent assigned to this position will provide a wide range of administrative support services to the Legal Department.The incumbent must be detail-oriented and is able to perform new tasks quickly with particular attention to accuracy. Will interact with Board/Committee members; prepare and distribute agenda materials for meetings and is responsible for coordinating & scheduling external Board/Committee meetings.Other duties include: typing legal documents and contracts, maintaining litigation files and pleadings, reviewing subpoenas and discovery requests, updating document and litigation databases, scheduling meeting appointments, making travel arrangements, telephone coverage, filing, etc. Required Education, Experience & Skills:High School Diploma 3 years or more of progressive administrative/secretarial experience in a corporate or legal settingExperience supporting several attorneys or other professionalsAbility to prioritize and organize work and manage multiple tasksAbility to identify issues and prepare initial responses to external/internal requests for informationAbility to work with others in a team environment and meet deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to quality and detail (must be accurate)Proficient in performing Internet searches and researchProficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:Prior experience working in a legal environment highly preferred.
