SAN Storage Engineer
If you have a background in Systems Administration or Storage Technologies and are looking to make a difference in a fortune 500 company then we have an opportunity for you! As our Storage Area Network Engineer you would focus on two main areas - data backup/recovery and storage resource management. Administer and support SAN fabrics, EMC and/or Net Apps and disk arrays. Expand your skills in backup infrastructure, Vertas Backup and control storage. Become an expert in the definition, tracking and maintenance of data resources in a production environment. Provides technical support and basic administration, in the planning, coordination, and implementation of upgrades, or changes to SAN technologies. Develops, tests and implements technical procedures to maintain or expand service levels. Work in conjunction with Server Administrators to translate business application requirements into infrastructure requirements Evaluate products, services, applications/tools, software, and industry developments for potential business impact Participate in medium to large business projects; lead small to medium infrastructure projects Performs system maintenance as assigned coordinating with the business for the appropriate maintenance window. Provides level of support for problem resolution. Participates in 24 x 7 on-call rotation. Initiates interaction with established vendorsRequired Skills:Completion of Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, Technical Certification and / or 4 – 6 years of increasingly responsible professional experience. EMC Systems Administration degree and/or Systems Administration experience Requires basic knowledge of networking components and services such as TCP/IP protocols, DHCP and DNS technologies, and LAN/WAN topologies and transports Requires in-depth knowledge of storage and backup technologies employed; hardware, and related tools and applications Excellent Communication Skills Strong customer service orientation If this sounds like the opportunity for you then please apply today!
