Regional Sales Manager for Private Insurance Outreach (NY)
Position Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for creating and implementing a marketing/sales plan that will enable the region to achieve its private insurance census goals.
Responsibilities:Create and implement a marketing strategies and sales plans that will promote Phoenix House services to stimulate and maintain private insurance client referralsDevelop and maintain effective client relationships with current and prospective referral sources to market Phoenix House services.Interface at a detailed level with Managed Behavioral Health Organization’s (MBHO) clinical teams on treatment protocols, management strategies, quality of care matters, medical necessity issues, and opportunities for program issues/enhancements.Relay MBHO needs to Phoenix House executives for continuous improvement, program development and clinical redesign.Present to senior executives the results/outcomes of Phoenix House care to MBHO members to promote expansion of use of services. Position Phoenix House outcomes as competitive in the market.Develop a strong knowledge of behavioral health services and related industriesFollow up and visit referral sources to stimulate interest and referrals to Phoenix House programsPrepare presentations and marketing materials to effectively represent services offered
· Expand market share outside of MBHO markets (e.g., Workers Compensation, Third Party Administrators, Military, Unions, direct to employers).Identify and resolve referral client concernsReview contracts, reports and census to effectively identify targets, project marketing needs, prepare action plans and initiate sales efforts Partner and consult with local and corporate leadership team to coordinate and plan marketing effortsEstablish and provide on-going reports on key business metrics related to activitiesAssists in development of regional strategic plan and budget planning processAdheres to and promotes the Phoenix House mission and values. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
· A behavioral health clinician who has previous Managed Care experience and/or existing MBHO relationships/contacts; knowledge of regional medical or social service community a real plus.
· Experienced in Managed Care Principles
· Understanding of behavioral health as a discipline
· Knowledge of Managed Behavioral Health Organization (MBHO) programs/companies/teams.
· Knowledge of managed care strategies and approaches to medical management of quality and cost of care.
· Understanding of and capability to present managed care utilization and quality metrics to demonstrate successful outcomes.
· Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills (communication and presentation skills) for marketing to MBHO management and clinical teams; responding to questions/complaints; and building trust/interest in use of Phoenix House programs.
· Demonstrated ability to craft and/or contribute to marketing program content, collaterals, messaging to MBHOs.
· Degree in related field of study or comparable work experience
· Demonstrated negotiation and persuasive skills
· Acute perception of people's attitudes, characteristics and behavior patterns
· Proficiency in MS Office products
· Excellent organizational, analytical, time management and project management skills
· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
· Demonstrated ability to use effective leadership skills in daily interactions, planning and delegation of duties
