Provider Representative

The primary function of the Provider Representative position is as follows:

 

Promotes the professional interests of Delta Dental and affiliated companies by developing a strong network of participating providers, recruiting and maintaining independent network providers, facilitating effective resolution to provider issues and conduct dental office training and professional dental seminars. Develop recruitment strategies; recruit dental offices to secure participation in provider networks. Develop and maintain ongoing positive relations with network dentists. Educate and assist network dentists with compliance matters with regards to their agreement. Conduct special provider training sessions and seminars; attend meetings of provider groups and organizations.  Manage and service network providers, maintain effective communication with Contracts, Plan partners, Customer Service, other internal departments as it relates to the provider community. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Ideal candidate must be highly motivated and meet the following minimum qualifications:

 

·  Two years dental office or paraprofessional claims processing experience.

·  Two years customer service/provider relation experience.

·  Skills in training, basic math and analytical problem-solving.

·  Knowledge of dental terminology and practices.

·  Ability to use microcomputers, including word processing and database software.

·  Public speaking experience preferred.

·  Graduation from an accredited dental assistant school or equivalent experience.

·  Two or four year college degree preferred.

·  Speaking and hearing ability to communicate verbally on the telephone and in person.

·  Sight and reading ability to communicate verbally on the telephone and in person.

·  Ability to travel frequently.

·  Typing ability to use PC keyboard to enter data.

·  Ability to effectively communicate OSGP policies and procedures to both provider and enrollee populations

·  Ability to lift an carry 20 pounds of audio/visual equipment for seminars.

·  Reasoning skills for problem identification and resolution.

·  Customer contact skills.

·  Ability to maintain confidentiality.

·  Ability to negotiate contracts with providers.

·  Ability to handle constant interruptions.

·  Ability to manage multiple priorities.

·  The ability to appear for work on time.

·  The ability to appear at a physical location.

·  The ability to perform job duties for a specific duration of time.

·  The ability to follow directions from a supervisor.

·  The ability to interact well with co-workers.

·  The ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures.

·  The ability to accept constructive criticism. The ability to maintain regular/consistent attendance and adhere to scheduled shifts.

·  The ability to maintain regular/consistent attendance and a full-time schedule.

·  The ability to maintain current status on projects.

·  The ability to stay current on training/issues in field.
