It's a smart move.This role is responsible for technical and analytical support for the development and execution of technology, process solutions, and underwriting projects to support Specialty Programs. Under administrative direction, exercises latitude in judgment in the identification and resolution of medium to complex business issues as well as in the design, development and implementation of product line projects and programs impacting profitability. Senior level requires advanced underwriting knowledge. A senior level SME applies advanced principles, theories and concepts. The percentage of time spent on different activities will vary based on business and enterprise projects. This position reports to the Product Executive. As a member of the Resource Center product management team and a key resource to the Solution Delivery team, this role is responsible for the following:· Develop and execute analytical work-plans to support current and future state business strategies and hypotheses.· Works closely with initiative and project leaders to ensure both product needs are met and business is insulated from disruption.· Recommends new and revised products and programs, underwriting standards and procedures.· Able to carry out detailed analytical, technical and/or research components of transactions involving the technical capabilities of the respective product line.· Possess substantial depth and breadth of theoretical and practical underwriting knowledge in line of business.· Produce succinct written documents and well organized presentations· Identifies patterns and connections among situations not readily apparent. Integrates ideas into a course of action that aligns with the business strategies and the Solution Delivery team.· Ability to infer from disparate or incomplete data sources; use reasonable judgment to draw logical conclusions. Include perspectives of others into sound decision-making.· Support the identification of business requirements and methodologies.· Develop and produce training material and conduct training sessions on new tools, products and services.· Supports the development and/or implementation of products enhancements and innovation.· Identify, develop and implement underwriting policy, procedural and program changes in accordance with the underwriting strategies and regulatory environment in concert with the Product Executives.· Understands and maintains functional knowledge of the product lines business strategies, issues and trends impacting the types of projects and programs, and business solutions that are developed.Requirements: · General Business Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Applicable experience could serve as a substitute for education requirements.· Knowledge of insurance industry, agency operations, insurance laws/regulations and general business operations· Knowledge of underwriting and underwriting process platforms (rating and issuance systems), as well as testing experience required. · Strong project management, communications, planning, negotiation and organization skills.· Strong qualitative and quantitative research, and analytical skills. · Demonstrates strong verbal, written, listening and presentation skills. · Deep underwriting expertise and knowledge of operations workflow & best practices · Experience identifying business requirements for new technology · Strong systems proficiency and understanding of technology (aptitude for technology) · Project management experience as a team member on large projects or as a project manager of smaller projects · Demonstrated communication and influence skills with all levels of the organization More information about Fireman's Fund, our privacy policy, and our relationship with Allianz Group can be found at www.firemansfund.jobs An equal opportunity employer.Education: HS diploma (or equivalent work experience)Job Level: 6-10 years
