We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Product Analyst.  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: SummaryThis position requires taking an active role in formulating and implementing countrywide strategies through increased analysis and focus on product performance, competitor behaviors, and marketplace dynamics. Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrive country-wide initiatives throughout the Personal Insurance organization through the development and implementation of Country-wide Pricing and Product strategies for Property Products through: 1. Monitoring and analyzing performance through the continuous review of profitability and production results.2. Developing and Implementing new product ideas and strategies through emerging issues research and collaboration with R&D, Risk Control, State Teams, and other areas to design new initiatives.3. Analysis of competitor and industry data, production costs, loss data, competitive positions, underwriting / marketing programs, claim data, interaction with field staff and various channels, and interaction with IT/Systems, Regulatory Affairs, and Claim  -Fully understand and integrates Personal Insurance strategic imperatives in daily work. -Solid understanding of controllable income. -Ability to develop pro forma cost benefit analysis. -Recommend improvements to procedures and workflow-Resource to other analysts as a Property subject matter expert. -Train and assimilate new members of the team. Specific Project work may include:-Monitoring and Analysis of major Homeowners products. -Coordinating and Implementing country-wide rating / product strategies-Competitor Analysis-Active role in building corporate strategies that impact property products.-New Product, Emerging Issue, and Demographic Market Research-Building of Databases and In-depth reports in MS Excel and Access. Education / Work Experience-1 - 3 years experience -4-year college degree or equivalent experience. -Solid knowledge of Personal Lines products and systems. -Ability to interact with the field sales team and connections within the Industry to gather competitive intelligence -Basic knowledge of Pricing and Finance -Strong organization and time management skills.-Strong oral and written communication skills.-Solid knowledge of Excel, Access and Word and Travelers systems. Other-Demonstrated leadership behaviors. -Analyze and interpret rates, data and trends. -Solid understanding of competitive analysis tools.  Able to extract and analyze competitive data. -Solid understanding of techniques and models used to forecast insurance financials.
