Paralegal
The Motor Vehicle Accident Indemnification Corporation (MVAIC) was created in 1958 to provide compensation for innocent victims of certain types of accidents caused by uninsured or otherwise financially irresponsible motorists. MVAIC operates as a non-profit insurance corporation and is located in the downtown section of New York City. A small friendly company, MVAIC offers outstanding benefits and a quality of work/life balance rarely found in the corporate world today.
MVAIC is currently seeking a paralegal to provide legal support within its No Fault Unit. The successful candidate will prepare answers, discovery responses, motions for discovery and summary judgment, affidavits and memoranda of law. The paralegal will assist the attorney in coordination of the defense of cases with the claims department, serve and file papers in court and provide general clerical support related to case management.
A Bachelors degree and a minimum of three to five years of paralegal experience is required; no fault experience is a plus. Strong organization, computer and communication skills are also necessary.
