A subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services, SRS is one of the largest Third Party Administrators (TPA’s) in the industry.  Founded in 1990, SRS provides worker’s compensation, auto and general product liability, integrated disability, claim administration and risk management services nationwide.  We are currently developing a new system designed to perform Risk Management Information Systems, Account set up and Billing.  We currently require experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developers to work on Maintenance and Production Support initiatives supporting this new system. Classroom and/or on the job training will be provided. While strong PL/SQL Development skills are required for the position, there may be flexibility in some of the other skills noted below for the right candidate.  The following are the responsibilities of this position:
 
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Key responsibilities include:
 
APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT/PRODUCTION SUPPORT:
Utilize Oracle toolset to design, develop, test, implement and maintain systems in support of SRS Strategic initiatives Gain necessary input/approval of requirements and design and participate in code reviews Ensure applications meet requirements and are error free Develop technical system documentation Ensure that applications meet the architectural standards Support the operations of existing applications When on call, provide timely response and resolution of emergency production questions, issues and defects Adhere to a production support process Looks for ways to enhance design of application for better maintainability and software reuse BUSINESS ALIGNMENT:
Involve users as appropriate in the development/maintenance of applications (e.g., requirements, testing)  Understand how users use their applications Anticipate users’ future needs when architecting solutionsMANAGING WORK:
Manage workload to deliver quality deliverables that meet requirements and timeliness Communicate status of assignments to Manager Create documentation to aid in others' learning If applicable, provide project supervision and ensures quality and timeliness of others' deliverables Notify Manager of issues that impact productivity or ability to meet expectations Resolve issues or escalate to Manager, if necessaryWHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
 
Oracle PL/SQL Developer - Reports 10G
 
Experience in PL/SQL programming is required Experience with Oracle 10g environment preferred UNIX shell Scripting preferred Oracle Reports 10g REQUIRED Full application development life cycle experience Work experience in Insurance industry preferred Work experience and familiarity with Hartford Financial Services systems and infrastructure preferred Strong skills in writing, maintaining, testing and debugging code in applicable programming languages Customer Focus: Strives to give customers the best.
