We currently have an opening for an Operations Supervisor in our Chicago office.

Basic Function of Job:

Direct oversight of assigned Underwriting Assistants. Ensure consistency in procedures, processes and workflows (where applicable). Obtain maximum output of all resources through performance management, effective use of technical skill assessment tools, and inventory management tools.

Requirements:

This position requires 5 - 7 years of Property and Casualty insurance experience in an Underwriting Assistant role.Hands-on supervisory experience of small groups would be benificial. The candidate will handle a book of business, direct an underwriting operations staff of 5 - 8 individuals and ensure adherence to established processes and procedures. The successful candidate must be hands-on and detail-oriented with the ability to coach/manage staff to a higher level of performance, be an effective change agent and successfully partner with the Operations Director and Underwriting Departments. The qualified candidate must demonstrate leadership and time management skills.Performance Management experience a plus. Candidate must possess an understanding of Underwriting and Operations roles, the ability to analyze workflows and identify where adjustments should be made. The successful candidate must have the ability and confidence work directly with Underwriters to ensure that all necessary information is provided.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
