WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Responsible for the review and evaluation of disability claims.  Provide functional assessments based on the available medical documentation.  To coordinate return to work efforts with the disabled employee and the employee's physician.  To contact the disabled employee's physician to clarify or obtain additional medical information.You will work on a multidisciplinary team comprised of Medical Case Managers, Behavioral Health Case Managers and Vocational Rehabilitation Case Managers with the focus on improving the employee's functional capabilities & return to work potential.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Medical Case Managers may be Registered Nurses or other health care professionals whose expertise will improve the team's ability to clarify and address specific medical and functional issues.  The Medical Case Manager must hold current licenses, registrations and/or any professional designations that may be required within the jurisdiction.  The Medical Case Manager must keep clinical expertise current and acquire the necessary continuing education units (CEUs) to keep license and designation current.  The following skills and competencies are desired:
 
The ability to work independently or in a team setting, strong organizational and time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective vendor management. Serve as a medical resource to the team.
