Material Damage Appraiser/Sr. Material Damage Appraiser
This position is responsible for appraising and documenting auto material damage. Responsibilities & Objectives· Appraise vehicles and negotiate agreed prices with repair facilities.· Complete total loss vehicle inventories, if applicable.· Document appraisals, supplements and reports.· Conduct salvage vehicle inspections and complete reports.· Submit appraisals and digital pictures electronically.· Comply with regulations.· Comply with “Bristol West Insurance Group Auto Appraiser’s Ethics Statement.”· Perform other duties as assigned. PREREQUISITES Education Bachelors degree or equivalent experience I-CAR Certificate and/or ASE Certificate preferredExperience & Skills · 2 - 5+ years material damage appraiser experience· Familiarity with electronic estimating software· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals· Excellent verbal and written communication skills· Strong customer service and negotiation skills· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel· Current valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for Company car operation under the Bristol West Company Car Policy Bristol West's continued success is a reflection of our company's outlook combined with our employee's hard work and dedication.
