Marketing Account Executive
The Strategic Comp Division seeks to provide a long-term solution to our clients' workers’ compensation needs. We offer a unique combination of effective loss control, intensive claims management, and a financial structure that provides immediate savings when losses are controlled.
The Strategic Comp Division is currently searching for a Marketing Account Executive (MAE). The role of the MAE is to market products and services through the Independent Agency system in a specific geographic territory, with overall goals of achieving a high level of renewal retention, and an appropriate level of profitable growth of new business. The MAE will focus on communication and relationship management with the agent, our underwriting department, and the Account Executives who work with our insureds.
The person hired for this position will work from their home and will be required to travel up to 60% of the time including some overnight travel. A company car is provided.
In addition to a competitive total rewards program, we offer an annual discretionary bonus for this position.
Develops and executes an overall Territory Plan by identifying key agencies and key producers within those agencies. Develops activities that allow us to capitalize on competitors’ weaknesses and/or market conditions.
Develops new business in the assigned territory by determining desired accounts and expiration dates. Continually gathers significant information about those accounts in order to proactively market for a submission from the agency at the appropriate time.
Analyzes competitor actions, agents’ activities, and market conditions and activities for opportunities. Keeps agents and underwriting department up-to-date on the information.
Gathers information on submitted new business including current circumstances and anticipated pricing to enable our underwriters to determine its potential compatibility with our program. If the account is found to be acceptable, the underwriter will underwrite and and competitively price the account. The MAE conducts or oversees all communication and strategizing between Underwriting and the agent.
Builds strong working relationships with and between agency personnel and internal team members. Regularly visits agencies focusing on key relationships necessary to achieve desired goals. Monitors and facilitates relationships with the agency producers in particular.
Monitors overall communication with the agents to assure they are appropriate - frequency and with whom, right levels involved, appropriate mode of communication on risk submissions, etc. Assures quality communication among all internal team members involved in the respective agency relationship.
Performs other duties as directed.
Must have a Bachelor's degree and 5 plus years of experience marketing and/or production underwriting in commercial insurance, preferably in workers’ compensation.
Qualified candidates must have knowledge of the workings of the Independent Agent system and have strong knowledge of and relationships with the key agencies in the territory.
