Manager of Data Warehouse
The Data Warehouse Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of BI applications and processes based on documented and approved BI projects. Job responsibilities:
· Creates a robust, sustainable architecture that supports requirements and provides for expansion given budgetary constraints and availability of data and skilled resources
· Assist in developing a vision and business case for the BI program
· Hires and oversees BI developers, analysts and architect(s)
· Interfaces with business sponsors and steering committees
· Meets business criteria for successful BI implementations
· Evaluates and selects various data warehousing tools and components
· Coordinates multiple architect(s) responsible for development, integration, administration, and evolution of the data warehouse
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Strong conceptual and analytical skills
· Use-case analysis skills
· Knowledge of Insurance
· Ability to balance theory and practical reality
· Good understanding of data warehousing principles
· Familiar with dimensional modeling
· Knowledge of ETL and query tools
· Experience developing SQL Server databases, ODBC, Reporting Services, Analysis Services
· Understanding of how to manage SSIS/DTS jobs/packages
· Knowledge of operating system impact
· Metadata/document management
· Prior experience designing and building data warehouses
· Data modeling, database administration, and performance tuning
