Details of this position follow:
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Plan, develop and direct the implementation of improved processes and procedures to enhance the financial reporting of the ACE Limited investment portfolio
§ Work closely with the Accounting Policy Unit to monitor accounting rule-making bodies and assess potential impact on the investment organization and reporting
§ Lead efforts to improve the process and controls supporting the financial reporting of the global investment portfolio
§ Direct departmental efforts related to documentation and monitoring of compliance with the applicable provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002
§ Oversight of external investment pricing including maintaining dialogue with external pricing sources and ongoing documentation of pricing policies and procedures
§ Ensure proper application of GAAP, SAP and SEC regulations related to investments
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
§ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred
§ Minimum 5 years accounting experience within the financial services industry
§ Solid knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting for financial instruments
§ Proven accounting experience applying GAAP and Statutory accounting principles
(Working knowledge of FAS 133, 155, 157, 159 preferred)
§ Strong project management and research skills
§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
§ Strong analytical skills and aptitude for detail
§ Ability to think critically, analyze, prioritize, take initiative and problem-solve
§ Excellent PC skills are essential, specifically Excel
§ Knowledge of Princeton Financial Pam System a plus
