Blue Shield of California (BSC) is a long-established health care firm which is
embarking on a major program to reengineer its core business and to modernize
the technology that supports it. The Shield Advance program will provide the key
technology and business processes which are fundamental to delivering on the
firm's strategies for future growth.

BSC is seeking a Shield Advance Product Project Coordinator in the San Francisco
office to support the Product project team. As part of the Advance Product
Project Office, the MS Project Server Application Specialist will be responsible
for supporting and maintaining the Project Management software, tools and
protocols, providing training and direct support to project team members to
ensure compliance and successful execution. In addition, this candidate will
help in gathering and analyzing status, issues and inter-dependencies of
multiple work streams in order to facilitate project and executive level
decision making across the Advance Product project. Requires strong business
acumen, team focus and experience working in a complex project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

Act as the project team's Application Administrator of the MS Office Project
Server 2007 and related applications, managing day to day operations as well as
enhancements.

Uses Project Server tools to support project and resource reporting
requirements; supports project team's Project Server reporting needs.

Build and update project plans

Assist in the maintenance of the Project Plan ensuring that plan is properly and
consistently updated.

Assembly and maintenance of the Project Monthly calendar

Track and follow up with staff to ensure team compliance with Shield Advance PMO
protocols for time reporting and project schedule maintenance on Project Server.

Leverage MS Project Server, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, to track
and analyze Advance Product project milestones and status.

Gather and assemble weekly project status report and other progress/update
reporting to various audiences as required.



Coordinate flow of Advance Product status reports into weekly, monthly and
quarterly reporting processes. Partner with Advance Product project managers and
Shield Advance PMO to create and maintain deadlines.

Track and monitor issues, risks and dependencies across the Advance Product
project.

Perform as the project librarian responsible for the proper organization and
documentation of project information in MS SharePoint

Identify and assess ongoing improvements to Advance Product Project Office
approach, processes and tools.

Bachelors degree and seven years relevant experience or equivalent combination
of education and experience.

Extensive knowledge of PCs and related software applications.

Advanced technical abilities related to automated systems and operations.

Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Effective presentation skills.

Good math, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Skill in planning, organizing, leading and effectively managing projects or team
members in the performance of their duties.

Preferred Skills:

Strong MS Project, Excel and Access skills preferred

MS Project Server and SharePoint /and or other collaboration tools

Knowledge and/or experience in the health-care or IT industry preferable.

Great attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced project environment
