Blue Shield of California (BSC) is a long-established health care firm which is
embarking on a major program to re-engineer its core business and to modernize
the technology that supports it. The Shield Advance Program will provide the key
technology and business processes which are fundamental to delivering on the
firm's strategies for future growth.
As part of the Program Management Office (PMO), the MS Project Server
Application Administrator will be responsible for configuring and supporting the
Program & Project Management software and tools to align with protocol
specifications for the Shield Advance Program.
May provide training and guidance to program team members to ensure compliance
and successful execution.
In addition, this candidate will help in gathering and analyzing of requirements
to enhance multiple project inter-dependencies to facilitate executive level
decision making across the Shield Advance Program.
Requires strong business acumen, strategic outlook and a focus on complex
project delivery.
Responsible for managing the MS Office Project Server 2007 Application by
administering day to day operations and assist with functional server support,
including researching issues to resolve end user problems. Additionally the
Application Administrator will be responsible for creating, modifying, and
trouble shooting program and project level reports using SQL reporting services.
Uses Project Server, Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server administrative
tools to define project and resource reporting codes; upload enterprise
templates; define timesheet views; lock reporting periods and timesheet data.
Collaborate with project managers, directors and PMO staff to gather, identify
and assess system enhancement requirements and make recommendations.
Perform analysis and assist in the process of portfolio trade-off decisions and
ensure impact is incorporated into relevant projects or operations.
May instruct, guide and oversee work of lower-level technical professionals.
Requires experience using MS Project Server, preferrably 2007 version, and
experience configuring reports using MS SQL Reporting Services.
Experience in buidling OLAP cubes desired.
Prefer Microsoft Certified Professional in Planning, Deploying, and Managing an
Enterprise Management Solution.
Bachelors degree and seven years relevant experience or equivalent combination
of education and experience.
Extensive knowledge of PCs and related software applications.
Advanced technical abilities related to automated systems and operations.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
Effective presentation skills.
Good math, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Skill in planning, organizing, leading and effectively managing projects or team
members in the performance of their duties.
