Life Insurance Specialist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Area Manager/Direct Sales Management, is responsible for penetrating the Auto Club membership as well as the personal property and casualty book of business by identifying through direct response, customer calls and other marketing strategies, those members and insureds who have life insurance needs. Partners with the service staff, Sales Agents, Area Management/Direct Sales Management, and Area Development Managers to service and maintain accounts. 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Working knowledge of the following: underwriting sales techniques; Selling techniques; life product line illustrations, features and benefits; Personal property/casualty sales department organization and structure. Working knowledge of life insurance sales techniques, financial needs analysis, Social Security benefits review, insurance industry rules and regulations. Ability to work with life sales reports to determine market share and growth. Ability to work with others in all phases of lead generation. Ability to pursue/complete after the sale activities. Ability to understand the use and principles of business planning. Ability to maintain high standards of application completion and life underwriting guidelines while achieving quality sales. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to interact with staff, members, insureds and others effectively. Excellent business writing skills needed to prepare reports and recommendations.  Must display ability to lead and provide training and guidance to others. Must have command of the English language and must be able to express oneself effectively verbally, in writing, in person, in formal presentations and over the telephone. Requires 1year of experience in life insurance sales or customer service
