Job Description
Supervises the general administration of long term disability claims. Performs a variety of technical duties and administrative duties relative to daily claims management activities on pending and active LTD cases. Assists in a variety of administrative duties related to disability services and benefits.

Required Experience
Requires effective verbal and written communications skills, a working knowledge of purposes, principles and practices of insurance systems; insurance law, codes, disability and casualty claims policies and guidelines; computer operations and technical software applications; negotiation and interview techniques; basic mathematics, bookkeeping and related statistical procedures; interpersonal conflict resolution methods; principals of organizational design, supervision, and motivation.
Must have the ability to communicate regarding a variety of insurance issues and programs and make recommendations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with technical advisors, managers, co-workers and the public; perform basic mathematical calculations; operate a variety of types of office equipment; work independently and deal effectively with stress caused by work load
and time deadlines. Must be able to deal with claimants medical and financial information with sensitivity, confidentiality and discretion.

Associates degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience performing above and related duties with specific experience and special training or education in lost time insurance claims management and casualty claims management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements· Physical effort is not unusual or strenuous and does not require lifting of over 20 lbs.
