Responsibilities: Manages complex accounting, operational, financial and insurance audits at the branch, division, subsidiary and/or corporate level and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of assignments. Has authority to make decisions affecting daily operations. Manages complex audits of the activities of various departments for compliance with plans, policies and procedures prescribed by management and external agencies. Reviews the documentation of activities within the department to determine strengths and weaknesses. Meets with direct management and senior management to discuss audit plans and objectives. Oversees the presentation of audit findings, and submits recommendations for improvements in policies and procedures. Assists in the design and implementation of internal auditing procedures to involve developing and implementing comprehensive internal auditing plans and performs administrative functions to ensure operating efficiencies within the department.. Manages system development and/or application reviews to ensure appropriate procedures and controls. Keeps abreast of changes in accounting, insurance and auditing requirements and investigates the impact of such changes on the auditing process. Advises affected departments. Provides upper management with input on internal auditing issues and programs and makes recommendations for improvements. Manages complex Internal Auditing projects and manages audit staff. A Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent training is required. MBA, CPA or CIA preferred. 5 - 7 years progressively more responsible work experience 2 years supervisory experience, required. Extensive knowledge of auditing issues and their impact on the auditing process. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Portuguese or Spanish speaking skills required.
