Processes new member enrollment and sets up new group accounts to ensure on-line
eligibility for billing, health and ancillary products.

Processes health plan applications with a high degree of accuracy.

Analyzes applications for completeness and eligibility criteria.

Requests medical clarification or results for applicants.

Approves, declines or forwards applications to underwriting using Blue Shield
guidelines, federal and/or state legislation as appropriate.

Gathers relevant information for underwriting and send required documents to
designated contact person in a timely manner.

Communicates with new group contacts, brokers, underwriters and sales.

Requires High school diploma or GED and two years experience in installation
processing, claims processing and/or member/customer service or related
function, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to enter and retrieve data using standard keyboard functions.

Ability to meet heavy deadlines and follow detailed procedures.

Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.

Proficiency with Windows based PC applications, including the Internet.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or government
regulations

Ability to write business correspondence and effectively respond to questions
from brokers, agents and employees.
