Inland Marine and Related Property Senior Underwriter

It's a smart move.Responsibilities:· Responsible for Underwriting Specialty Inland Marine risks, including selection/rejection of new and renewal business. Markets the company's products and services through appointed retail insurance producers.· Develops and maintains productive and profitable producer and policyholder relationships.· Evaluates, selects, classifies and rates risks on an individual submission basis; establishes uniform standards of coverage, rates and amounts of protection/coverage to be offered.· Underwrites accounts, sells developed Inland Marine proposals to producers, and negotiates pricing, terms & conditions and declines submissions which do not meet the company's Underwriting standards.· Prices and sells/retains acceptable Inland Marine renewal risks/accounts.· Participates in field office Underwriting activities, file and policy review audits and ongoing producer reviews.Requirements: General knowledge of products, coverages and Inland Marine Underwriting practices. Strong communication, presentation, sales and negotiation skills. Strong analytical skills, required to grasp complex issues and for presentation to others. Strong interpersonal skills, required to develop and maintain quality agency and policyholder relationships. Strong Underwriting, marketing, production and management skills required to solve complex business problems within the Inland Marine line of business. Thorough understanding of ratemaking procedures, rules, regulations, company filings and their application to nationwide Inland Marine risks. Proven experience in Underwriting and managing unique Inland Marine risks. Proven skills pertaining to the development and execution of tactical territory management plans, required to achieve business unit and Regional profit/growth objectives.
