In House Litigation Paralegal

Position Summary:
The litigation paralegal provides professional legal support service to the attorneys of the Law Department in the form of legal research, collection of information relevant to cases, drafting of memoranda, document review, discovery activities, report preparation and general file management.

Essential Job Functions: 
• Conduct computer based legal research
• Draft for attorney’s review and signature various correspondence, memoranda and other documents with respect to discovery, reporting, subpoenas and other issues.
• Assist attorneys in gathering information and developing facts.
• Utilize matter management software for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Assist in the processing of outside counsel invoices utilizing an electronic billing system.
• Interact with regional offices and outside counsel in locating, organizing, reviewing and assisting in the production of discovery materials.
• Participate in special administrative projects as requested.

  Minimum Position Requirements:
• Paralegal Certificate.
• Two to five years of litigation experience in a corporate Law Department.
• Familiarity with the insurance industry
• Knowledge of civil litigation procedure and discovery practice.
• Strong technology skills in applications including Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with an ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
