IT Systems Engineer Lead

The Enterprise Patterns team is currently looking for a Lead Engineer to identify, document, and integrate infrastructure re-usable solutions across all of the IT community. These solutions are part of the larger Enterprise Architecture goals to support the overarching Progressive IT mission - IT 2.0. The goal of this position is to help create pattern strategy, define and standardize both infrastructure and services patterns, and lastly help re-use these patterns across all of IT. Duties: Identify, develop and implement Infrastructure based patterns for use by IT. Your main focus will be to work with Infrastructure subject matter experts to determine relevant patterns, their ownership, how they should be applied, pattern publication, documentation and lastly education on the patterns. You will also be required to help define a pattern life cycle process whereby new patterns are defined and old (anti- patterns) are managed out of the Progressive business and IT culture.Required Skills: - Minimum 10 years of IT experience. - Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead role supporting one of more large scale infrastructure components such as the WINTEL platform, the mainframe platform, transaction management components, database components, or networking components. - Minimum 2 years experience as a lead technician supporting applications in a very large scale IT organization. - Must possess exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills to complement technical background. - Experience supporting, designing or developing .Net / C# applications in a multiple data center environment. - Experience with technologies such as Server Virtualization, Server Clustering, Disk Mirroring, Transaction routing, Web Services and Database Management systems are all a plus. - Ability to collaborate with other senior developers, engineers and architects is crucial. - Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
