The IT Project Coordinator Senior is a senior level position that serves as the main point of contact for the coordination and execution of projects from an IT Telecom perspective and within an IT department independent of a PMO. Each IT Project Coordinator Senior may be assigned multiple projects at various stages in their lifecycle at any given time. Manages multiple medium to large scale Claims, House Counsel, Service Center or Regional Migration and CAT projects that are moderate to high in complexity and diversity and may can include multiple platforms, (i.e., technology upgrades, expansions, moves, etc.). At the Senior level of this job the expectation is that the individual will be able to demonstrate their skills as a seasoned and experienced professional as they deliver solid results related to their project work. Creates implementation Project Plans (i.e., Teamplay); challenges the scope and/or timeline estimates when out of context; offers alternative solutions through creative contingency and communication plans; identifies and eliminates potential risks; provides regular status updates; act as liaison to the customers, project resources, Business Areas and vendors; monitors project progress; manages scope and budgets. Has a wide range of experience, skills and knowledge. Works independently and exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors and creativity to determine an appropriate solution. Assists lower-level IT Project Coordinators with the resolutions for escalated issues. Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. May receive general instructions or just an overall direction on new assignments from Manager or IT Project Coordinator Lead and be expected to deliver quality outcomes. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's or Associates Degree in a business or IT discipline which could include Computer Science, Telecommunications or Business Management. In lieu of a degree, related work experience will be accepted. Must have a minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience, which includes at least 4 or more years of leading formalized IT Telecom projects or in a technical role facilitating or leading aspects of IT Telecom projects. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments and overall direction only. Strong understanding of concepts for nationwide telecommunications networks and systems which requires a strong technological aptitude and a clear understanding of floor plan applications and their specifications/requirements. Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, including management, less experienced staff members and external vendors. Strong presentation skills delivering formal presentations to organizations within and outside of IT. Solid working knowledge of Call Flow requirements for software preparation for Switch Administration. The ability to operate a PC with strong working knowledge of associated software (i.e., Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes). Strong negotiation, problem solving skills and customer service skills. Must be able to work with deadlines and changing priorities. The Project Coordinator manages multiple medium to large scale claims Branch Office Activities (or BOA's), regional migrations, platform deliveries for remote offices (MPLS, wireless upgrades, etc) and catastrophe (CAT) projects. At the senior level of this job the expectation is that the individual has the skills to perform and deliver standard Project Management level support for the telecom aspects of these projects. This includes creating the Teamplay plan, assigning the resources, leading all project meetings, updating all communications, following up and providing status on all key milestones and conducting post implementation reviews and feedback sessions. Additionally, this position will also encompass more Project Management responsibility outside of the standard BOA projects. At the senior coordinator level, you will also be expected to be able to support various other Enterprise Technology and IT projects from a PM capacity, ranging from medium to large in scale (ie, Field CTR, XP migration, PCI, etc). This position requires a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on project management experience along with strong presentation skills and experience delivering formal project presentations to organizations within and outside of IT. Travel is often required for these BOA projects and a solid understanding of the telecom systems involved is also required. This includes knowledge of and possible support experience in: Solid working knowledge of Call Flow requirements for software preparation for Switch Administration, including voice station layout and design, including class of service, voicemail, skill assignments and general switch admin knowledge. Strong understanding of concepts for nationwide telecommunications networks and systems which requires a strong technological aptitude and a clear understanding of floor plan applications and their specifications/requirements.
