Major Duties and Functions Include: We are seeking talented entry-level professionals for a comprehensive, fast-paced IT trainee program. Successful candidates will select one of two “training tracks�: (1) BUSINESS APPLICATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT or (2) ENTERPRISE INFRASTRUCTURE. Both tracks consist of rotational assignments designed to provide candidates with broad exposure to MetLife’s many IT disciplines which support a global IT organization. This program allows candidates to explore career opportunities across the IT environment and prepares them for a diverse and challenging career in Information Technology at MetLife! Functional areas covered include: Business Systems Analysis * Business Systems Architecture * Project Management * Applications Development * Quality Assurance & Testing * Network Design and Support * Infrastructure Systems Analysis * Capacity Management * IT Security * Database Administration * Internet, Mainframe & Distributed Engineering * The incumbent will participate on project teams responsible for the evaluation of client area application programming, systems requirements, processes and specifications. He/she will assist in the development, testing, and implementation of efficient, cost-effective application and infrastructure solutions for the full spectrum of technology including operating platforms, hardware environments, and applications design. Principal Responsibilities : Assist in the evaluation of business processes and needs in order to formulate programming/ systems specifications and programming logic from which information systems will be developed, taking into consideration computer equipment capacity, limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Research alternative solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective solution for applications systems development solution. Participate in systems testing and utilize data verification methods and standard tools to analyze functionality of system in light of production requirements of client management. Review the results of systems tests. Make adjustments to system design prior to implementation. Design, code, test and debug applications systems using programming languages and systems architectures within operating environment of organization. Assist in the evaluation of technology needs in order to formulate network, infrastructure systems specifications and the operational support model from which the information system will be developed, taking into consideration computer equipment capacity, limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Research alternative solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective solution for infrastructure systems deployment. Participate in systems capacity testing, and monitoring using standard tools to analyze functionality of system in light of production requirements. Assess IT security risks and research effective controls for safeguarding the IT environment of the global enterprise. What You Need to Succeed: Basic knowledge of applications or infrastructure design, testing and development.
