IT CONSULTANT II

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Consultant role is to design, develop, execute, assess, and troubleshoot software programs and applications. This includes configuring, coding, developing, documenting software and software specifications throughout the project life cycle. The Technical Consultant will ensure application operation, architecture on design issues, and provide support to other departments where required. Senior-level position, with competency level where you can produce deliverables, mentor other technical staff and lead technical teams made up of technical developers.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Four-year college degree in software engineering, computer science, or relative field of study; and, 7+ years of work experience in the content management/portal space, with an emphasis on Vignette, Websphere, Oracle DMBS, and Windows/Unix technologies. Advance degree is a plus. 2+ plus years experience working with Vignette VCM, VAP, and DPM is a plus.2+ plus years experience working with search and knowledge management tool such as autonomy is a plus. Database and operating systems experience with SQL Server and Oracle and Websphere 5.x/6.x.7+ years and Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including J2EE, Java, Javascript, Servlets, EJBs, struts, scripting, JSPs, web services, HTML / JMS, JDBC, XML, XSLT / JSP / XHTML, XSL, CSS, DHTML, PL/SQL, web application integration including SOAP/XML, SAML, Web Services, MQ/JMS, Websphere Application Server.Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, PGP, Compression/Encryption technologies, Telnet/SSH.Knowledge of security technologies including Directory Services (LDAP), Single Sign-On, SSL, Certificates.Experience with development techniques and tools including RUP, UML, Eclipse/WSAD/Rational Developer, Test Director, and ClearCase desired.Certifications in one or more of the following SCJ*, SCWCD, SCDJWS, SCEA, VCSP, VCSA is a plus.Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.Manages multiple and/or highly complex I.T. project teams.Adept at conducting research into software-related issues and products.Strong written and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws are pluses.Ability to lead small groups of technical and business subject matter experts.Requires ability to plan, organize and achieve coordinated objectives in a complex environment of multiple projects and stakeholders.Ability to influence vendors on product/service direction and resolve significant business issues.Ability to manage internal and external relationships, evaluate business partners and recommend alternative sourcing strategies.
