As a IT Architect - Marketing for USAA at our San Antonio, TX facility, you will fulfill the technical leadership role in providing technology solutions to meet business needs in the area of Marketing. Job duties: Implements technology solutions at a detailed level by applying industry knowledge, best practices and architectural guidance to ensure system functionality and cost efficiencies. Analyzes technology at a detailed level to recommend its effective use and fit within the USAA processing environment. Serves as the lead troubleshooter to diagnose systems technology issues in development and operational environments. Provides leadership as Project Architect on relevant IT projects to ensure architectural compliance. Defines, documents and communicates the USAA target architecture, standards and best practices for a specific technology or solution domain. Serves as a mentor to operational and development staffs. Entrance Qualifications: Extensive 10+ years of experience in Marketing Application Systems, Processes, and Operations. Extensive knowledge with Enterprise Marketing Management, Campaign Management, Marketing Resource Management, Analytics, and Decisioning. Minimum of 5 years of IT experience in an IT Architect or Lead Developer role. Experience architecting/designing large, complex integrated solutions to include J2EE applications, Data Warehouse applications, and purchased packages. Working knowledge of marketing industry solutions such as Epiphany, Aprimo, and/or Unica is required. Excellent interpersonal communication and coordination skills with both business and IT communities. Ability to gain the trust and respect of Sr. Executive Management in the marketing and technical communities. Ability to work and communicate effectively with marketing personnel at all levels. Strong planning skills and the ability to balance tactical needs with an overall strategic architecture. Proven track record of technical leadership in project development. Preferred experience includes: Experience with web-based marketing strategies and web analytics. Experience with marketing-based research and analysis solutions. Knowledge of Data Warehouse design and architecture. Knowledge of Informatica, Data Stage, and DB2 DPF. Work experience in the Insurance, Banking, or Financial Services industries. Experience with niche-provider marketing strategies.
