HR CONSULTANT II

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for providing complex HR Consultative support to business clients within a defined region. The incumbent will build and maintain quality relationships with business clients to ensure appropriate HR support is delivered proactively. Supports business groups with business issues that are varied and/or complex.

HR Client Support:

Provides proactive, consultative, HR generalist support to business clients, ensuring adherence to company policies and programs. Builds and maintains relationships with business managers to understand business issues and strategies. Handles escalated issues from ON MY WAY in a timely manner to create high customer satisfaction. Facilitates Climate Surveys, team building and change management sessions. Refers ER issues to ER Managers for resolution; creates articulate and defensible investigative files, as needed. Participates in depositions, as needed. Collaborates with Security and business management in Workplace Violence investigations and issue resolution.

Management Coaching:

Provides quality management consultations to client managers as they work through complex employee HR issues. Partners with corporate counsel as needed to provide legally defensible counsel. Provides feedback to client management ensuring leadership skills are demonstrated consistently.

Trends and Analysis:

Understands business trends as reports and metrics are regularly reviewed and analyzed. Provide client management with specific data ensuring plans are in place to address business issues.

Programs and Policies:

Interprets policy and collaborates with Policy Consultant to design new/revised policies for the client. Assists with HR program roll-outs ensuring the client perspectives are considered.

Project Support:

Provides HR support for small client organizational restructuring efforts. May lead small to medium sized project teams related to HR process improvement, program design or provide subject matter expertise on these teams. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Requires 8 – 10 years HR generalist experience of which 3-5 years has been in a HR consulting unit. BA degree required or a combination of HR and other comparable professional experience. Proven ability to provide solid management consultation. Ability to work in remote locations and travel as needed. Excellent interpersonal, influence management, negotiation, leadership and team building skills.Strong communication skills. Strong decision making, organizational, planning, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively and gain credibility quickly to instill  confidence at the management level. Excellent people skills and ability to model values-based behaviors to client staff. In-depth knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Demonstrated ability to think creatively. Some project experience needed.
