Oswald Companies, a regional risk consulting and financial services firm, is seeking a Senior Consultant for our Group Benefits team in Birmingham, Michigan. The Senior Consultant manages the development/expansion process for assigned client account teams; additionally, is responsible for identification of strategies to increase account penetrations, and maintaining client relations. High value placed on the integrity of client data management.
Essential Job Functions: Leads assigned book of client accounts to ensure exceptional service and all stewardship responsibilities, including uniform reporting & profitability, developing risk steering and/or advisory committees as needed Collaborates with business development and the client management team to ensure client service needs are exceeded Achieves Individual New Business goals as defined Drives strategic planning process by leading small teams and by developing detailed project timelines/plans ensuring timely client deliverables Develops and collaborates with appropriate Company team members the account sales strategies to ensure the achievement of defined new business, retention and growth (cross-selling) goals Develop long term client plans for business opportunities with appropriate teams to formulate strategies for management review. Participates in presentations when requiredServes as a subject matter expert in design of insurance programs based on client risk factors; responsible for submittal and negotiations with insurance carriers to procure best-fit solutions Maximizes the integrity of account intelligence through timely & accurate updates of key data Work with internal team members to ensure a high level of communication and responsibility for activities Performs duties in a manner consistent with Oswald Professional Standards including all E&O procedures
Essential Job Requirements:Education: Bachelors Degree preferred Life, Health & Accident License required Professional Designations a plus (i.e. GBA, CEBS, RHU)Experience: Minimum of 12 years Benefits industry experience Agency Management System experience preferred (BenefitPoint ideal) Experience in preparation, analysis & interpretation of risk data for presentation of servicing solutionsRequired Skills: Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task Strong written/verbal communication and inter-personal skills while developing strong relationships Exceptional presentation skills on a variety of levels including Executives and Board of Directors Strong decision-making and analytical skills: able to independently analyze financial, claim and loss experience reports Demonstrated strong initiative within teams and independently to attain goals Proven strategic planning experience to support clients and company Sales/Service cycle Proficiency in basic computer programs and appropriate software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
