Position Summary:

 

Analyze, create and interpret financials statements/models and reports for the guidance of the Co-Presidents. Responsibilities include the preparation and distribution of the monthly financial package to Life Sales’ Management team and Allianz Finance Department.  This will include the profitability of sales with the different carriers and different divisions.

 

Key Functions:

 

Financial Reporting: Prepares all financial reports for Life Sales working directly with Fireman’s Fund and Allianz.  This includes compliance with GAAP, and other regulatory accounting and financial reporting rules and regulations.  Will coordinate and review all financial information requested by and presented to parties both inside and outside of Life Sales.

 

Operations Reporting: Prepares analysis required to determine results of each division and of the individuals within each division.  Prepares other analysis such as relationship profitability, agent penetration, carrier profitability, financial models, compensation models, etc.

 

Manage Finance/HR Team: Oversee team that administers payroll, human resources, benefits, personnel files, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

 

Procedures: Responsible for the development, communication and implementation of accounting policies and procedures within the department and company. 

 

Contract Negotiation/Valuation: Work with Co-Presidents to determine opportunities for entering into strategic relationships with distribution sources outside of the single agent/rep contractual agreements.

 

Budgeting/Forecasting:  Assist in the planning and implementation of the forecasting and budgeting process by working directly with Co-Presidents, Team Managers, and Allianz. Responsible for monthly budget to actual variance analysis and explanations to variances.

 

Qualifications:5+ years experience GAAP and cost accounting; distribution experience a “+”  Insurance industry experience not requiredAbility to manage peopleExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projectsPC skills required (Excel, Word, Access & Quickbooks)Ability to work independently and focus on resultsAbility to be flexible and adapt to change quicklyUnderstanding of field needs and how to handle effectivelyThe ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically and effectively

Education:

Accounting or Finance Degree or equivalent work experience
