We have an immediate need for an Eligibility Examiner to work in our Enrollment Department located in our NY City office.

 

The Eligibility Examiner reviews applications submitted by the Child Health Plus Sales and Marketing staff, applies CHPlus eligibility criteria and assures appropriateness of CHPlus eligibility determination.

 

The responsibilities of this position include:

 

·        Reviews CHPlus application for completeness and eligibility criteria.

·        Processes paperwork completely and accurately, including follow up visit documentation and other necessary reports.

·        Gathers data from various sources to complete CHPlus application process.

·        Interacts with members, prospective members, government agencies, social services organizations and other organizations to obtain needed information.  Maintains professional relationship with local county and state agencies that refer eligible recipients.

·        Assists with process to upload data to State Department of Health CHPs system (KIDS).

·        Assists with production of reports, internal and external. 

·        Various other tasks as assigned.

 

The qualifications for this position are:

 

·        Bachelors or Associates Degree desired; equivalent with minimum of 2 yrs related experience required.

·        Prior work experience in social services, human services or government programs preferred.

·        The ability to work independently with little direction and always act professionally and tactfully required.

·        Proficiency with MS Word, strong data entry skills and attention to detail required.

·        Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required.

·        Bilingual Spanish speaking helpful

 

The work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
