Director of Property Claims
Assistant Vice President of Property:Harleysville Insurance is a premier regional property and casualty insurer offering a full portfolio of commercial lines, personal lines, life, and flood insurance products. We have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Vice President of Property Claims with a solid technical background and proven leadership skills to join our team of “Good People to Know”. This position is located in our Home Office in Harleysville PA.We are looking for a strategic and innovative individual to report directly to the Senior Vice President of Claims. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: directing and managing the property claims department; directing, administering, and organizing catastrophic claims operations; developing alternative products for cost control; reviewing and approving reserves, settlements and payment authority for large property and heavy equipment losses within established authority level; coordination of key vendor relationships; and acting as liaison for Personal and Commercial Lines Underwriting, Actuarial and Loss Control Departments on issues of common concern. Requirements: Minimum 10 years of progressive property adjusting experience with an emphasis on highly complex claims with a minimum of 3 to 5 years management/leadership experience. Bachelor Degree or equivalent required. AIM, AIC, PCLA, and other insurance designations desired. Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are required.
