Position Description:Responsibilities:This is a high visibility role assuring that all transactions including securitizations, M&A and reinsurance transactions are effected in the most tax efficient manner. The successful candidate will have to develop close working relationships with Genworth associates across Genworth’s operating and financial planning units. Additionally he/she must have both the ability to think strategically as well as tactically. His/her objective is to assure that Genworth’s business objectives are met in the most tax efficient manner. Specifically, his/her responsibilities will include but are not limited to:? Providing tax analysis on transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, capital markets initiatives, reinsurance transactions and corporate restructuring.? Ensuring completed transactions are fully integrated into tax reporting and tax controllership processes. ? Interfacing with business and financial planning heads to assure that business objectives are met with maximum tax efficiency.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Basic Candidate Qualifications? JD or BA/BS in Accounting.? Minimum 5 years of tax experience in law or accounting firm.? 5-10 years tax experience with emphasis in transaction analysis.? Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to business heads in plain English.Preferred Candidate Qualifications:? Masters degree in tax.? Outstanding written and oral communication skills.? Experience in insurance/financial services industry preferred.? Knowledge of GAAP accounting for income taxes including FIN 48.
