Data Warehousing ETL Developer/Analyst

Grade K/L Data Warehouse ETL Developer/Analyst This position is responsible for providing primary support and ongoing enhancements to a multi-terabyte Enterprise Data Warehouse Application. Assignments will include planning and execution of the complete project from a technical perspective. It is imperative for this position that a high priority be placed on the ability to implement solutions such that minimal time is required to make changes, react to problems, and explain and document the process in functional terms. This technical role requires experience in the full systems project life cycle including analyzing business requirements, designing technical specifications, programming, testing and implementing data warehouse solutions using Stored Procedures (T-SQL) and .NET programs. Some key responsibilities will include mentoring, best practices design and implementation, maintenance and tuning of all production and development databases to provide maximum uptime and performance. Ideal candidate will have a strong problem solving abilities, background with VLDB, exposure to DW or CDI/MDM (customer data integration/master data management) but does not have to be expert in it. Desired Experience: Ability to analyze, design, and implement Data Warehouse ETL process using T-SQL and .NET programs. (Preferably Data Transformation Services (DTS)) Knowledge of data modeling techniques (3rd normal form and/or Star Schema) Ability to analyze execution plans to improve DB performance Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Dedication ETL Tool experience a plus DB2 UDB experience a plus QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience required. Ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. Must have an in-depth knowledge of a group’s applications programming system / platform and a general knowledge of all groups applications programming systems. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, excellent problem solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills and abilities as generally acquired through five to eight years of experience. Must demonstrate leadership, professionalism and an understanding of the insurance business.NOT APPLICABLE
