Job Details: Customer Service Representative-Sales Full Time Class Start Date: November 24, 2008 Licensed Position: P& C Training Provided Training Schedule: Monday-Friday: 9:00am-5:45pm (training will last approximately 12 weeks) Work Schedule: Monday-Friday: Start times between 9:00am to 9:45am * Schedule subject to change. You must complete and pass the Property and Casualty License requirements during training in order to remain in the position. Two weeks of licensing training is included in the 12 weeks of training provided by Progressive Insurance. Position Summary: This position provides customers with an exceptional buying experience. The Direct Customer Sales Rep Associate spends 90 percent of their time handling telephone calls from prospective and existing customers regarding insurance rates and policies. Uses computerized system to track, gather information, and answer customer inquiries. Identifies customer insurance needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate sales tools and product offerings. Attends and participates in weekly team meetings. Makes a positive first impression and promoting/selling Progressive's products. Knowledge,Skills,& Experience: Essential - High School diploma or equivalent required. - Minimum 2 years of post secondary education or 2 years work experience in a position that developed the ability to think critically, solve problems, has proven sales success, serve customers, effectively communicate verbally and embrace new challenges. - Background/experience that demonstrates consistent job stability, including a minimum of 1 year of experience with a single employer. - Proficient in computer window-based programs with excellent navigational skills. - Excellent communication, sales and customer service skills along with a customer-driven, sales-minded disposition. - Ability to deliver caring and attentive, knowledgeable, confident, helpful, and prompt phone service. - Ability to handle stress in a call center environment. - Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. - Ability to solve problems and multitask while handling customer calls. - Bilingual in Spanish is a plus (for certain sites) PROGRESSIVE OFFERS: * competitive Pay * Comprehensive benefits * 401(k) plan with company match * Access to and training in the latest technology * Freedom to express your ideas * Career advancement and personal growth * A team of bright, diverse colleagues * On-site fitness center, health and wellness center, and cafeteria. * Casual dress policy. * Ongoing training and career development.
