Consultant Engineer

This is a position for a resident engineer in the Richmond, VA area. The engineer is expected to handle field, office work, and projects for the most common occupancies and hazards with minimal guidance and supervision requirements. This person should be capable of working independently. He or she will receive assignments initially of limited scope and complexity, however the engineer will gradually take on most assignments of a general nature. This includes routine visits (some may be more complex), less complex visits (non-specialist) as well as projects that are reasonably straight forward.

The candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering (mechical, electrical, civil, and chemical), with the ability to use software products to analyze and document engineering recommendations and services. Strong organizational, communication, listening and interpersonal skills are a must. The individual will be expected to work independently and enjoy the flexibility of working from home. Some overnight travel is to be expected.
