Compensation Consultant

Job Summary: Working collaboratively with all levels of management and other members of Premera’s Human Resources team, the Compensation Consultant ensures that compensation programs and systems effectively support the business goals of the organization. Provides consultation to internal and external partners focused on delivering market competitive compensation programs, tools and plans. Reinforces the established total rewards compensation philosophy in support of pay for performance in all interactions. The incumbent is responsible for resolving problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of multiple, complex sources. Responsibilities: 1. Administers key compensation programs, procedures, tools, systems and projects as assigned in an effective, efficient manner that support the pay for performance philosophy of the organization. 2. Assures plans and administration of plans complies with all applicable laws and regulations. 3. Assesses plan effectiveness with emphasis on compensation plan modeling, what if scenarios, interpretation of compensation plans. 4. Conducts assigned compensation surveys, analyzes data, makes comparisons to appropriate benchmarks and recommends any required base pay adjustments. 5. Evaluates jobs using established systems, determines pay grade assignments, FLSA status, etc. 6. Analyzes and tracks results of compensation programs making recommendations to management on a variety of issues 7. Acts as liaison between management and administration staff across various departments in developing, implementing and maintaining assigned compensation programs, tools or systems. 8. Contributes as part of the team on special projects, making suggestions and acting as project leader when appropriate. Minimum Qualifications 1. 5 years analytics experience with 3 years direct support of key processes 2. Power user of Microsoft Office Products including Excel and Access. 3. Ability to apply math and financial concepts to different business models. Strong ability to analyze and interpret detailed data with high level of accuracy and present information to various customers, including executive management. 4. Ability to manage multiple, complex, concurrent, and highly confidential projects and data analyses. 5. Ability to draw sound conclusions and make appropriate judgments based on data from disparate sources. 6. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills. 7. Experience handling sensitive and confidential information and situations in a professional manner. 8. Active learner; demonstrates ongoing educational/professional development passion Additional Qualifications Preferred: 9. CCP or other Human Resources Professional Certification 10.
