Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager

Our client is not only relied upon by thousands of their policyholders and agents, but also recognized by receiving a Financial Stability Rating of 'A' (Exceptional). They are growing their commercial lines program and are seeking a commercial lines underwriting management professional to lead this growth in a newly created position.

Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager responsibilities:

Develop, implement and manage underwriting policies, guidelines and procedures.

Optimize underwriting rating software.

Manage and optimize inspection programs.

Optimize profitability via claims analysis by coverages, locations and agents.

Provide guidance to Team Leaders and Underwriters.

Secure and share competitive intelligence.

Manage regulatory environment.

Work with marketing department to identify and develop proactive cross departmental strategies.

Work with IT to improve systems and software.

Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager requirements:

Around seven (7) or more years of well rounded commercial lines underwriting experience. Around three or more of those years in a supervisory capacity.

Well versed in current market trends & competitive analysis.

Thorough and detailed product, service and processing knowledge including:

Forms & coverages and manuals.

Exposure and risk factor analysis

Rating principles and mechanics

Experience with range of distribution sources.
