Claims Technician

This position is responsible for assisting Claims Representatives and office management in the investigation and settlement of auto claims.  It also may be responsible for assisting Claims and Management with the general operations functions of an office. Responsibilities & Objectives· Gather information on newly reported claims and complete loss report and file set up, if applicable.· Make vehicle appraisal assignments, if applicable.· Answer phones and direct calls in a timely and professional manner.· Provide dispatch functions to body shops and Material Damage Appraisers, if applicable.· Provide extraordinary customer service.· Perform data entry for system compliance.· Provide filing and mail opening duties in branch locations.· Perform dictation of transcripts, if applicable.· May also:o  Complete mailroom processing.o  File.o  Perform copy work.o  Assist with the supply process.· Perform other duties as assigned.  PREREQUISITES Education Bachelor's degree Experience & Skills· Minimum 1 year claims handling experience· Ability to type 40+ WPM· Proven customer service skills· Proficient PC skills· Basic clerical experience· Excellent communication, organization and time management skills· Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail· Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment  To be considered, qualified candidates should apply online through the Apply Now button, orvia our website at www.bristolwest.com, or email resumes directly to hrdg@bristolwest.com referencing Job ID 07NR-600.
