Claims Supervisor
AmeriHealth Casualty Services (ACS) offers workers' compensation insurance and services to businesses located primarily in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Our affiliations with major health insurers allow us to provide employers with a medical network that helps us keep costs down. AmeriHealth Casualty Services was established in 1996 as an extension of CompServices, Inc., one of the region's premier workers' compensation claims administrators. Our mission is to offer workers' compensation insurance combined with high-quality claims management and cost containment services. This position is based at our Center City Philadelphia location.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Supervising, training and monitoring case management efforts of five to seven Claims Representatives/Adjusters (carrying average caseloads of 100 to 200 claims each), Medical Only Clerks and other claims personnel Ensuring the quality of the investigation, evaluation (reserving), settlement and/or defense of workers’ compensation claims in a timely, cost effective manner Reviewing and approving new claims reports recommended for denial by the Adjusters Reviewing and amending all reserves based on Insurance Industry standards
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Undergraduate degree preferred Five years Claims or Operations related experience with at least two years in a leadership capacity Supervisory experience In-depth knowledge of NJ & DE Workers' Compensation Law and the claims process Working knowledge of medical and legal terminology Ability to manage inventory and organize and control workflows Ability to manage, motivate and develop a staff Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, written/verbal communication skills with attention to detail
