Claims Manager - Auto Physical Damage

Responsibilites: Provides direction to APD Claims Representatives. Provides technical direction and support to field representatives. Reviews and implements strategic changes to SECURA’s APD operations. Directs work assignments, schedules, and reviews work-in-progress. Reviews more complex cases and settles or initiates further action within approved authority levels. Serves as technical resource to direct reports and others in the organization. Provides information to, and seeks information from: Underwriting, Risk Management, Marketing, and Actuary to identify and maintain profitable business. Maintains appropriate level of loss adjustment expense by reviewing and managing use of vendors. Handles errors and complaints and ensures regulatory compliance. Personally reviews and adjusts selected claims. Provides complete summaries of current work status to department and division management on a timely basis. Participates in file audits. Reviews and analyzes claim reports to identify and address trends. Recommends and implements strategies to correct adverse trends. Participates in performance appraisals, pay recommendations, and budget formulation. Assist associates with analysis and identification of training needs, and identifies appropriate resources to ensure ongoing skill development. Participates in hiring and disciplinary processes.

Qualifications:

RequiredFive or more years experience in specific technical area of supervision. Ability to manage, prioritize, and multitask projects by applying judgment and knowledge. Above average analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work without supervision. Ability to learn new skills and tasks quickly. Demonstrated PC and related software skills.

Desired Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. AIC, CPCU, ARM, or CIC designations. Previous experience using Boeckh and Pathways estimating software. Bilingual. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
